A Message from the President
Greetings!
The Santa Barbara Ice Hawks (SBIH) are a co-ed ice hockey club that calls Ice in Paradise in Goleta, California its home. SBIH is governed by the Santa Barbara Minor Hockey Association, a nonprofit, public benefit corporation, which was organized to promote amateur athletes to conduct competition in ice hockey, and to support and develop athletes for competition.
We as a program seek to build character, develop skills and cultivate team-first concepts in our players all within a fun, safe and positive environment.
The core of our program is the character of our leaders, members and players defined as the all-encompassing passion, positive attitude and desire to improve individual and team attributes both on and off the ice. Within this framework, we as a program prioritize four major qualities:
- Sportsmanship - Overall positive behavior and attitude towards teammates, opponents, coaches and referees that shows respect for the game of hockey.
- Discipline - Determination to improve and exhibit consistent work ethic paired with the ability to listen to and focus on instruction.
- Commitment – Demonstrates dedication to the team through punctuality, preparedness and participation in all team related activities.
- Leadership – Respectful and responsible in setting a strong example of Sportsmanship and Discipline for teammates.
We as a board seek to empower and engage our membership through collaboration, playing an integral role in the community and in the development of our youth as upstanding, respectful members of that community.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, thank you for entrusting us with this great responsibility.
We are honored to serve.
Sincerely,
Bryce Wendel
